Learn the fundamentals of computer programming, as well as the mathematics, art, and design elements essential to modern video game production. Through the DigiPen ProjectFUN Editor, DP Technology Academy textbooks, and Microsoft Visual Studio, students acquire game design, real software engineering, and advanced problem solving skills.

The course focuses on teaching how 2D games are designed and the processes used to build them and make them flow. Experience an introduction to game design and programming, in-game collision and reflection, game-essential mathematics, object oriented programming, and simple physics. Throughout the school year students use these skills to create real 2D games, the design of which requires simple drawing on paper and monitor, as well as written project plans.

Prospective students are expected to have at a minimum done well in Algebra I and to be in good standing at their high schools.
